I am Wayne Kerr. I fixed small things for neighbors and people who know neighbors for a while, mostly personal home visits where somebody had a loose thing and did not want the whole street hearing about it. Sometimes people still ask if I am doing that, and the honest answer is I do not know,, which is an answer people dislike because it has no handle on it.
I am not really looking for new customers right now. The site is more where I put the job notes when they start knocking around. Sometimes I start with a hinge and then I remember the porch, the smell of sunscreen, somebody saying she was SO glad I came over, and then the screw size gets mixed up with everything else in my head. That is not a plan. That is just how memory stores hardware.
Dad said a person ought to know when something is loose before it becomes airborne. I have found that applies to shelves, screen doors, and certain conversations in kitchens where somebody is leaning on the counter too close to the drawer I am trying to fix.
I am not a big outfit. Just one man with hand tools, quiet service, and enough patience to keep working it until the hinge sounds right,, which can take longer than people expect.
